DVD+RW

I am running Win 2000 Professional. I have a NEC ND-1000A
CD+RW drive as the secondary master in my system. It's IDE.
DMA is enabled> My problem is that it won't play a DVD!
It will play a data cd-rom and music cds, but when I load
a dvd in the drive, the green blinking light stops and goes
out. In Windows explorer, when I have tried to access the
drive, abox comes up stating "please insert a disk into
drive E:." Drive E is the Dvd+RW drive.
I have search these news groups for an answer as well as
the knoledge base. I have also searched Google. Nec has no
support that pertains to me. Also I purchased this drive
at Fry's, it is a Verbatim product, manufactured by NEC.

I'm sorry it's a ND-1000A Dvd+RW, not CD+RW.
About 5 years ago I tangled with an NEC drive. I think they had gone
out of business back then.
