DVD RW does not write at all

DVD RW drive does not read any disks.
I swap the drives connection. Still DVD RW does not work.
Other drive works.
Is it possible both lens of DVD RW dirty and won't read.
How to find out is it still good rather than simply tossing off.
Any advise?

Try installing it in a different PC as last check to see if it will work
at all.

Yes.

Use a DVD cleaner disk to clean the lens. Make sure all connections are
tight. Then, if the problem still doesn't resolve, get a new drive.
