DVD playback problem with PowerDVD

I use PowerDVD 5 that came with my Gigabyte 9200 card. Though the dvd
playback is excellent, when I enable "hardware acceleration" under PDVD
Video settings, picture gets full of green lines after some time playing a
movie. I use the Omega 3.85 drivers. Is that a DVD problem, a hardware
problem, or a driver problem? Or should I just switch to WinDVD?

Could be heat. Could you add an extra fan and tie up cables to improve
airflow?

If it plays OK without hardware acceleration and doesn't give the same
symptoms, just disable it and don't look back.

Hmmm, the card has a fan installed on the 9200 chip, and all there is in
the case is a round IDE cable and a SATA cable. Also large fans attached
on the case, and no overclocking.

Should I return the card and get a replacement, or another model?

When I turn hardware acceleration off, the celeron is the one that gets
heated at 44C.

Maybe I should install the Gigabyte utility which monitors the
temperature and even try to underclock the card, though I don't know
whether this is possible or worth the trouble.

Also I installed the Gigabyte utility to monitor gpu temperature, and it
shows 35C steady while dvd playback. Maybe the memory chips are
overheating though, though I find it a bit unlikely.

I have the 9700 and I cant use hardware acceleration for DVD playback, and I
have the zalmon heatsink kit. its no big deal to have that enabled anyway,
DVD playback is fine without acceleration.
