DVD is not working anymore!

Since upgrading to the genuine Windows I had a problem. The DVD is not
working. it shows it in explorer but when you load a disk and try to run it
or explore it, it just disappears (after checking it for a couple of
minutes). After to retrieve the inserted disk I have to reboot and open the
drive when is loading. I read your threads and tried the fixes to no avail.
the only change is that after merging cdgone in the registry it will
disappear and 'trap' only the DVD's, while if I put a CD it just tells me to
'insert a disk'. Please help me.

If you have a *3rd party installation * ( burner , etc ) you have to
reinstall that application .
