I have HP Pavillian DV1000 laptop with Windows XP SP2 home with Pioneer
DVD-RW DVR-14. According to pioneer, this drive is compatible with
both + and - DVDRs. I have always used DVD-Rs and it has done fine in
the past. Now,when I go to my computer/CD drive/properties with blank
DVD+ or -R disk in the drive, it says used space 0 bites free space 0
bites. However, I have no problem with CD-R what so ever. I also can
play all the recorded DVDs without any problem.
This laptop came with "Sonic record now" Virsion 7.2 music and movie
authoring software. When I use this particular software, it recognizes
the blank DVDs and works fine. I can make video, or data file in a
blank DVDs without any difficulty. Besides Sonic, all the other
softwares that I have--muvee autoProducer3.0 Se, intervideo WinDVD
creater--have the same problem.
Thinking that reinstalling all the software should solve the problem, I
reinstalled all the software to repair any problems the computer may
have, that took me nowhere. Then I formatted the hard drive and
reinstalled the entire system, and I still have the same problem. In
addition to that I tried uninsatalling the drive, it did not work
either. Can anybody help me?
