Hi Everyone! I have a new hard drive in my computer. Wanted to play a
'Santana' DVD and have found out that I now need to install a DVD decoder for
my Windows Media Player. Need help please.

DVD Playback in Windows XP

You can check if you have an installed decoder compatible with Windows Media Player
10 by installing and running the Video Decoder Checkup Utility:

If you don't have a DVD decoder, you can purchase one....see here:

What I do instead is install the free Media Player Classic for viewing DVDs and .vob
files....it has its own built-in decoder:

So why didn't you install the software that came with the CD/DVD drive?
It probably included PowerDVD or another program to playback DVD movies.
