dvd burner

My DVD drive is not working. The last thing I was able to install was a
Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000, which works fine. When I go to device manager it
shows that the burner is there and when I try to install updates it tells me
that I have the most current drivers for it, but when I click on my computer
it only shows my a:>drive(floppy) under devices with removable storage. No
sign of my dvd player. I am running vista ultimate.

Thanku Cal Bear '66'. I went to that link and followed the instructions
through regedit and deleted the upper and lower files from the dvd-cd
registry and now my dvd player is back. Now I have another problem. When I
try to copy disc in nero 7, just copy a movie that's already been copied,
when I click on burn or copy after setting up the burn speed, it comes up
with a message saying; "the specified path is invalid". This doesn't occur
when I burn a movie for the first time using the "Copy Entire DVD-Video"
option, only using the; "copy DVD" option. Any idea's?
