I am receiving Word documents which have been written in Dutch. Where can I get a dictionary which I can install in Word so I can translate these letters into Australian?

Hi,

Let me make your statment precise, You are try to convert document written
in Dutch to English.
You can use bilingual dictionaries to look up words and short phrases in
the dictionary of another language, or you can obtain a basic translation
of words, phrases, or your whole document by using machine translation over
the Web.

Security When you send text to the Web for translation services, your
document is sent in an unencrypted HTML format.

On the Tools menu, click Research.
Note In Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, the Research command is only
available when you compose an e-mail message using Microsoft Office Word
2003 as your default e-mail editor.

In the Search for list, select Translation.
If this is the first time you have used translation services, click OK to
install the bilingual dictionaries and enable the translation service
through the Research task pane.
To change the languages used for translation, in the Research task pane,
under Translation, select the languages you want to translate from and to.
For example, to translate English to French, click English (U.S.) in the
From list and French (France) in the To list.
Note To customize which resources are used for translation, click
Translation options, and then select the look-up options you want.

Do one of the following:
To translate a specific word, press ALT and click a word. The results
appear under Translation in the Research task pane.
To translate a short sentence, select the words, and then press ALT and
click the selection. The results appear in the Research task pane under
Translation.
To translate a whole document, in the Research task pane, under
Translation, click Translate whole document A translation of your document
appears in your Web browser..
To translate a word or phrase, type the word or phrase in the Search for
box, and then click Start Searching .
Notes

Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 does not support ALT and click. Use the right
mouse button (right-click), and click Look Up on the shortcut menu.
To translate text you may also need to Install system support for multiple
languages.
In Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, the Research task pane is available only
when you are reading or composing e-mail messages.

Please let me know if i can be of further assistance...

Thank you...
Raghu...

I don't have a Research option under the Tools menu in Word 2000, Word 2002 or Outlook 2002. You refer to Office 2003 products. Does that mean I cannot translate using earlier versions?

This bit is only partially correct. You can access the research task pane
from the help task pane, or you can add the research command button to the
toolbar and it will work regardless of whether Word 2003 is your default
e-mail editor.

The research function was added with Office 2003. It's absence will not stop
you from accessing basic translation services. As Raghu indicated there are
pleanty of these available on line. A search for "Translation Dutch English"
at Google gives over a million hits. I am sure you will find something
useful to assist you.
