I have tried to install MSAS on my pc XP sp2 with IE 6.0.2. I have loaded all
update on windows. I have tried running the MS installer clean up on MSAS and
reinstalled. I get the same results the splash screen comes up to the top
banner, does not go through activation or load the rest of the screen to
MSAS. Here is the funner part it will update software and does it correctly,
however same results. I loaded it from the sight and from PC no help. When I
select the tools menu it will allow me to select spyware scan, it will goto
the screen. It will allow you to select scan then it goes back to the splash
window with top boarder only.

Please ensure you are doing this under a Administrator accºunt.

Download and install Ccleªner
http://www.ccleaner.com/download124.asp

Reboot to Safe Mºde

Open Ccleaner and press "Run Cleaner" from the menu choose 'Issues' and then
press scan for issues, Repair any fºund.

Thanks for the responce! It did not cure the problem. Nice tool. It found
some errors that I cleaned up. I even downloaded MSAS again from MS sight and
allowed it to load from the sight then rebootef update software and rebooted.
I am still getting the same results. Any other ideas...

Here are a couple of things to try:

A) 1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

B) If A fails: Uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
Delete \program files\microsoft antispyware and all subfolders
Reinstall Microsoft Antispyware

I've seen a handful of posts with your symptom here, and I'm afraid I can't
recall the outcome--another idea would be to use MSCONFIG to see whether
there's a conflict with some other running apps of some sort.

Retry the part A thing.

When you get to the command prompt--navigate until you are in \windows (or
\winnt, depending on your Windows version)--then try the command.
