DURING BOOTUP

Hello Everyone,

I hope someone can help here...im a technician and during
the boot up the win xp screen will appear but before it
gets to the logon screen it will reboot.

ITs a ibm computer so im assuming xp home was put on by a
image..when i booted off a cd into restore mode the admin
password didnt work so i had to use boot disks to restore
the missing files that arent present during a image copy
from ibm.

i tried to restore kernel32.dl_
and that didnt correct the issue...under safemode i hae
turned off system restore..even tried system restore..got
ride of some programs and under msconfig cleared some of
the startup programs..and still at the end..the same
result.

What should i do?

Thanks very much for your help, I appreciate the
repsonse...Although

Boot (from CD) into recovery mode and try "fixboot"
and "fixmbr". performing chkdsk c: /f /r is another good
idea.

I have tried these except for fixmbr simply because i did
that once..and i remember having a issue with the
computer finding the windows installations..does it not
overwrite important files needed?
