DuraBrite vs UltraChrome Inks

What is the main differences between these two inks other than that they
are specified for different printers?
Is UC a finer grind?
Are DuraBrite pigments resin coated like UltraChrome pigment particles?
Why does DB work best on plain paper, whereas UC works with Glossy paper.
How does UC compare to the latest Dye based inks vis-a-vis resolution
and color gamut (neglecting longevity and water resistance)?

I suppose these questions need a few books to explain...
I could answer only one question, both inks are chemicaly similar, both
resin coated.
