Hi there

My HP 2015 DN prints the text same two times. The second time the text
is almost invisible. Furthermore not all lines are duplicated with the
same Gray level. Many aren't duplicated at all. The lines and duplicates
are about 10 cm apart.

Is the drum not fully discharged or cleaned or is the fuser roll dirty?
And will replacing de toner cartridge (AFAIK it also contains the drum
and fuser) solve the problem?

Hi there

The cartridge contains the drum but does not contain the fuser (that is a
separate assembly and more difficult to replace). However repetitive images are
usually caused by the cartridge.
To be sure, measure the exact vertical distance between the start of the
original image and the same position in the next "ghost" image.
The drum causes ghosts at 75.4mm and the fuser at 69mm. Smaller gaps can be
caused by both the fuser and cartridge as well as other assemblies.

Actually, the printer is a P2015dn.
The ghosts are at about 76 mm, which is pretty close to 75.4 mm. So it's
probably a drum problem.
The other way you can determine the problem is with a "half test".
Print one page from tray 1 (multipurpose tray) and when the paper is just
disappearing into the printer open the cover so that the paper stops moving. If
the ghost is present then the problem is the cartridge.
You can gently ease the paper out of the printer, the toner will not have been
fused so it will smudge. You may need to experiment with when to stop the
printer so that you can see the ghost.

Thanks for the info.
I'll try a new cartridge.
