duplicate files

Brian

I have a bunch of files in different directories that are
the same. How can I automatically identify these duplicate
files so I can eliminate them? I seem to remember a COMPARE
command in MS/DOS but I don't know if there is a way to do
it in XP.

Hi Brian,

Start/run cmd to open a command prompt. Run "fc /?" (no quotes) from the
prompt for the parameters to use for the file compare command.
