Dual Processors???

D

DMG

After installing XP Pro on a new computer Windows is detecting dual
processors but I only have a single P4 3Ghz.
Any ideas on how to correct this?
BIOS is recognizing the correct processor.
TIA

It sounds like you have Hyper-Threading enabled (your P4 will likely be HT
capable).

That will produce the appearance of 2 identical processors within XP... one
physical and the other virtual... which then share the workload.

Basically, it's normal behaviour.

Hope that helps
