Dual-head means?

Does it mean it has two monitor outputs or can a card be dual-head
with an optional cable that supports two monitors?

I need a dual-head card for video editing reasons and want a 9800 PRO
for Half-Life 2. Please advise which models of the 9800 PRO would
fit me. Thx

All the 9800pro cards have dual head. It has standard VGA connector
and a DVI connector, you connect the second monitor to the DVI
connector using the supplied DVI-VGA adapter. If you want video in
also then you have to get an All-in-Wonder 9800pro.

I'm afraid that's not so with the All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro... check the facts...

But it does not have a standard VGA connector. The All-In-Wonder only has the
DVI output for monitors. But, the "dual-head" functionality of this card is
obtained with its output to a TV. You can double the image you see on the
primary monitor connected on the DVI (or VGA using the DVI-to-VGA adapter,
included in the box), or you can have Windows extend your desktop onto the TV
Output, which would allow someone to put one program on that monitor while
running another program on the main one.

Hope this helps

FWIW, with all the All-In-Wonder boards except the 9600 the TV is the
second head--the 9600 looks like it's going to have 2 heads in
addition to TV. But the 9600 AIW looks like it's not going to have
DVI--I was planning on getting one when they came out until I found out
about that, and that is uses the same crappy connector as the
8500DV but passes the main video through it--now it looks like a 9800
AIW Pro.

Yea right, I have read that about the AIW but forgot that bit. I would
pass on the AIW and just get the 9800pro and add either a TV card with
video in (most TV cards ghave that) or a seperate video capture card.
But he didn't say he needs viodeo in so he may already have a such a
card for that purpose.

Yes, if video-in means firewire or something. I'm looking into a
Matrox RT-X10 for inputting video. I guess video-in could also mean
TV input. Primary concern was being able to have two monitors hooked
up through any 9800 PRO for video editing. With this HL2 bundle talk,
I might have to consider an XT. Hopefully they will have dual monitor
outputs too
