I have a windows XP profesional PC and want to install
windows 2000 server on the same machine. I would like to
keep XP and dual boot.

Can anyone let me know how to achieve this?

Kind Regards

You need to created a partition for the W2K server. You
need a 3rd party program such as Partition Magic to do that.
PM has a boot manager.
You might find a better solution would be to buy a second
computer to use as the server and network the XP machine.
You can share files and have a better result because dual
booting on one machine means you can have only one OS at a
time. The server system does not require high end video or
sound, just disk space and RAM.

Peter:

I dual boot between XP and MS server op systems.

A key item is that you want to use the ntldr and ntdetect files from the
newest op system when you are finished with the setup.
Make a copy of those files before you start the install (I use a \Masters
folder).

Following web site has info on various setups: http://www.dougknox.com/
