dual boot up

My computer has Windows XP as its operating system.
I would like to add Windows 98 as a second operatng system with dual bootup.
I have both operating systems on disk.
I understand the drivers neccessary for windows 98 would be a problem
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Rather than installing Windows as a dual-boot option, you might find it
easier to install it as a virtual PC. This would enable you to change
between OSs without rebooting.

Thank you for your response

By installing windows 98 as the virtual PC on the windows XP computer, would
I have to download additional drivers for the windows 98 operating system?
Would I be able to run a DOS program I presently have on Windows 98?
How involved is this addition of the virtual system (smething a tech would do)

Thanks again

1. Drivers are your choice: e.g. if you want to network the Win98
installation or print from it you would need network or printer drivers:
if not, not.

2. Drive format is another factor because Win98 cannot see
NTFS hard drives. This can make it difficult to move data into
a VirtualPC.

3, Win98 runs very nearly all DOS apps. But WinXP let us set
/ Properties / Compatibility in case we can tweak old apps to run
under WinXP. (I have done all I need and failed with only one,
Paradox 7, written for Win95.)

No, you don't need to download any drivers.

Installing a Virtual PC is probably somewhat above the skill level of your
average home user. Nothing much can go wrong but a person lacking technical
skills may not succeed in getting it to work.

Moving files into a virtual PC is easy: Win98 "drives" are mapped to WinXP
folders. While in WinXP mode, it is sufficient to move/copy a file into this
folder, using standard Explorer techniques.
