Hi!

I notice this error on one of my Windows 2000 DC:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NTDS Database
Event Category: (9)
Event ID: 1168
Date: 3/29/2006
Time: 5:50:18 AM
User: N/A
Computer: <DC>
Description:
Error 8430(20ee) has occurred (Internal ID 20612ee). Please contact
Microsoft Product Support Services for assistance.


How can I resolve this issue? I have seen articles from
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=827531 indicates that I need to install
hotfix from Microsoft. Can you send me a link where I can download this
hotfix?

you can't download it; it can only be obtained by calling microsoft support
(800.936.4900)
you won't get charged for obtaining a hotfix

I thought you had to pay now for hotfixes for Win2k, as it is in extended
support and out of warranty?

I already called up MS and gave to me the hotfix for free.

yes it did go into extended support last july, however, security related
hotfixes are available at no charge

"During the Extended Support phase, paid support options continue to be
available and security updates continue to be provided at no additional
charge. However, customers who want new, nonsecurity hotfix support during
the Extended Support phase need to sign up for an Extended Hotfix Support
agreement."
