Droppong photos

I've used Frontpage for numerous sites that make extensive use of photos,
since its first release.

I have only recently run into a situation where FrontPage is dropping photos
from the design view. Sometimes all photos are replaced by the red X
place-holders; sometimes a few of them are dropped. A look at the
properties shows that the path to the photo file is still correct - and when
the site is published, all the photos appear as they should. And attempt to
re-insert the photo into the same place holder does not solve the problem.
I have uninstalled and re-installed a new copy of FrontPage (a real hastle)
and the problem persists.

I use an older HP system, but am able to edit 220 MB photo files in
Photoshop without a problem - so this does not appear to be a problem
involving memory.

This problem makes it very difficult to manage the site, and impossible to
know what photo is where. I've struggled with it for three weeks now - and
I'm one step away from changing programs altogether...

This problem SEEMS to have started with a recent MS update. Does anyone
have ideas or suggestions?

Make sure there are no spaces in folder or file names.
Spaces will break links.
