Drop down window blank

I am suddenly experiencing 'blank drop down windows' on some applications. I
didn't change anything in windows or the apps. When i roll the cursor over
the drop down window area the entries appear. Is ther some way to have them
be there when I drop the window down?

Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 %Windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
