drop down 'afterupdate' not populating subform..

Have a Drop-down with 'afterupdate' event doing a Filter, then a Requery on
Subform.

Subform not working..(yet when go into design view on main form, then back
out, the Subform populated ok with selected dropdown choices..)

Added a Drop-down with 'afterupdate' event doing a Filter, then a Requery on
Subform.

Subform not working when open in Form view...but..

if then go into design view on main form, then back out to Form view,
everything works fine..the Subform populates correctly after drop down
selection..

any ideas appreciatated
