I am running an HP 511n with Win XP. I have Norton
anitvirus that will not run a full scan. It stop and
locks up my computer and I have to reboot. It is able to
run a full scan without stopping in safe mode which leads
me to believe it could be a driver but not sure which
one. How do you turn off or deactivate individual
drivers? I tried turning off other apps tat run in the
background and even disconnected the cable modem from the
computer,but it still locks up. I've also tried the
Symantec website but they do not provide a fix except to
try in safe mode. It doesn't lock up on the same set of
files everytime I do a scan. I did have a problem a year
ago with the video driver which forced me to use a
previous driver and not the latest. I've even tried the
latest driver and it Norton still gets stuck. The video
driver is from IBM. I hope someone has an answer to my
problem.
