drivers for pc tel ac'97 hsp micromodem

Hi

i've just installed xp and it won't recognise the built in modem.
I've been to the connexant website and downloaded the generic drivers
there but they don't work. xp says there are no drivers for the device
even though i've told it where they are.
have i got the wrong drivers? or am i doing something else wrong?
hope someone can help.

Well... it's a WINModem... you're screwed. Go buy a real one No, just kidding... there are drivers for it but they're a pain to get working.

You can go to www.driverguide.com to look for drivers.
On the other hand, it might be that the modem works using XP drivers
for another modem, let me explain: I have a HSP56 modem and its
drivers didn't work, now I'm using the XP drivers for the NEC modem
and it works flawlessly. If you don't find the correct drivers, try
this.
