Drive2drive utility won't verify new installed hard drive as good

I am test driving utility "Drive2drive" to clone this new one over the
existing old one. The new installed hard drive is immaculate. All works
fine on the win 98 SE Operating system and I have used scandisk
included the 3 hour long surface scan on this Seagate 120 Gig hard
drive (ST3120026a-RK) to verify the Drive is perfect. The PC is a
desktop Compaq Presario (AMD-K7) with 128 Mb of Ram.

Although all this is a fact, the Drive2drive utility stubbornly keeps
on thinking there is a problem with this new installed drive (stops at
99% new hard drive verification part)and therefore never lets me get to
the next stage which is to copy the files to the 2nd drive (which has
also passed all validity tests under the sun).

Has anybody run into this problem? Scoured the newgroups but could not
find anybody with this problem/solution.

Thanks to all ahead of time.

Download `powermax` from the maxtor web site, make a floppy disk. Use this
to check your drive. Or you could D\L the seagate one, they both work OK. To
be preferred over scandisk.
The only other thing, could be a fault in the software.
best wishes..OJ
