dr watson error when closing IE6.0 windows

Bob

hey all,

whenever i close an IE window, i get a dr watson error
that locks up all my other IE windows ... they become non-
responsive and so i have to go to the task manager and
kill all of them. the error message that pops up doesn't
make any sense to me but the thing asks if i want to send
a message about it to microsoft ... what exactly does
this accomplish?

any suggestions on how to fix this?

btw, i have xp.

Bob,
For the "closing IE" problem...
This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:
The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
More security tips at http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm
Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm

If not caused by malware, consider disabling (for diagnostic purposes)
legitimate programs running in the background which might be interacting
with IE- security, antivirus, ad-blockers, toolbars & other add-ons, etc.
You may have to uninstall then reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

Regarding the Error Reports...
That data allows Microsoft to analyze common (widespread) problems and
develop solutions.

Hope this helps,
Don
