Downloading Word 2000

Summer1

Hiya :)

I have Windows XP and I noticed that it does not come with Microsoft Word or
Microsoft Office-Only Notepad and Wordpad. Micrsoft Office 2000 was installed
on my last computer which had Windows 2000.

Why is 'the full version of Powerpoint 2007' a free download but Word 2000
is not, since they are both part of Microsoft Office? I browsed several
'Download' sites but Word (the full version) is not listed yet Powerpoint is
widely available.

Any ideas?

You paid extra for your old computer in order to get Office 2000 on
it.

But owning 2000 presumably entitles you to buy the upgrade, rather
than the full version, of 2007.

And there's no reason Summer1 can't install Office 2000 on the new computer.

That's a trial version, not a full version. It has all of the features but
its time-bombed.

As others have said, you paid extra for Office on your last system. If you
bought it with the purchase of your old computer, the license dies with that
computer. If you need Office on your newer computer, then you must pay for
it.
