Downloading Service Pack 4

I went to the Microsoft Update site to get the service packs.
According to the directions, it said we can download this small file
and them do the upgrade online, or select to save it for later use.

I got the small file, ran it, and it began backing up my files to
install online. I am on dialup. In no place does it say how big
these service packs are, but I imagine they are large. Much of the
upgrades I do not even need because they seem to emphasize networking
files and I do not connect to a network. I also have upgraded IE to
version 6 already.

Besides all of this, I am still in the process of learning Win2K, and
will likely delete and reinstall it a few times, as well as having
another computer to upgrade. I ONLY want to download the upgrade.
Online upgrades are very annoying if not deplorable.

How or where can I download either the whole thing, or better yet just
select the parts I want. If I must download the whole thing, I will
have to get a friend on high speed to get it for me if it's over 40
megs or so. 40 megs will take me 11 hours, or so. We must logoff
every 12 hours or my ISP does it.

Where can I get a download in full?

Thanks

LM

Hello (e-mail address removed),

Here you have the full SP4:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=1001aaf1-749f-49f4-8010-297bd6ca33a0

But you should better start learning Vista or at least XP. Windows 2000 support
ends next year complete.

Thanks for the help.

By next year I'll probably be using Linux. I'm just not going to
fight with all the verification crap. Then too, I am not willing or
able to buy a new computer, XP has nothing to offer me that I cant do
with Win2000, and for that matter Win98 works fine for me too. XP is
just Win2000 with a lot of bloat and useless junk added to it. Vista
dont interest me at all. On the other hand, I have heard some good
things about the beta for Windows 7. I guess we'll see. One other
thing, I refuse to use NTFS. If I cant access my files from a command
prompt I wont touch the computer. I installed 2000 on Fat32, as a
second OS to Win98se.

Hey, Meinolf

Before I get a friend to DL this for me, I want to be sure this is the
right one for Windows 2000 PROFESSIONAL. I'm assuming there is also a
Win2000 HOME. This is the right one for the professional version,
correct? I tried to get the details on this website and it's links,
but MS is notorious for never getting to the point. Kind of reminds
me of government documentation, way too many words and in the end it's
still does not spell it our clearly..... MS needs a new webmaster, in
my opinion....

Hello (e-mail address removed),

This is the one and only SP4 for windows versions. But keep in mind there
are still other downloads after that.

Dialup isn't networking? You obviously haven't an inkling of what you need
or don't need ... it sounds as if you don't even have any idea of what a
computer does or how it operates.
