Download Winzip form CNET has destroyed MS AntiSpyware!

Downloaded Winzip from cnet with Norton AV and IS running,
computer froze, applications were selecting themselves. If
I selected a direcotry or file, half of them would be
highlighted, resulting in multiple windows opening and
countless programs to run simultaneously. MS AntiSpyware
unable to load properly. Uninstalled, reinstalled,
interface is blank, unable to run a scan, unable to
access advanced tools. Ran regedit to remove all entries
of MS Antispyware, reinstalled, still will not run. No
virus found yet. Any thoughts? Of course I should not have
downloaded winzip, but beyond that? :(

I'm usingWinzip 9.0 SR1 together with MSAS without any problems but my AV is
AVG 7.0.

Perhaps you should have downloaded WinZip from the official WinZip site?
I have used WinZip for many years with many a free upgrade and nary a
problem. I swear by it.

I too have used WinZip for many years without problems. But Walterius'
point about downloading from the program homepage is valid no matter
what the program - many collection service URLs at best have backlevel
programs to offer.

I've been using Winzip forever, and never had a problem. Obviously, one's
mileage may vary.
