Anyone seen PC Utilities Magazine's new download site yet?

Opinions?

Are there any other good UK sites around please? The ones I have seen so far (such as download.com) seem to be US based and download times can be longer.

http://www.tucows.com/ is another good download site too.

With some recent "download mirrors" actually being con sites where the download has been "doctored" with a nastie, I'll always go to the source of the software first.

... most are just windows for advertisement, and any that have pop-ups soon get added to my little red book.

I tend to use McAfee SiteAdvisor so it helps flag up the dodgy sites before you enter them.

For software downloads i tend to use the manufacturer website, or if their downloads are slow i tend to use SoftPedia, as they mirror some downloads on their own servers.

Normally faster than the manufacturer's download servers.
