Does anyone have any idea where I can get a hold of Outlook or Outlook
Express without having to buy yet another expensive program?

I had Outlook Express with an earlier version of Office, but now I can't
find it unless I purchase Office Professional, or some such program, which is
just too darn expensive.

Help!

Outlook Express should already be installed on your unidentified version
of Windows. It was bundled with IE (up to v7). Outlook Express went
defunct back in 2002 and its development team disbanded in 2006. Vista
replace OE with its Windows Mail. Windows Live Mail replaces both OE
and Windows Mail.

No, you did not. Outlook Express was never included in any version of
Microsoft Office. Outlook Express was bundled with Internet Explorer
starting in IE3 (called Internet Mail & News and renamed to Outlook
Express in IE4). It was debundled from IE7 and later.

Outlook and Outlook Express are unrelated products despite having
"Outlook" in their product titles (just like MS Word and WordPerfect are
unrelated products).
but now I can't find it unless I purchase Office Professional, or some

You still won't find Outlook EXPRESS bundled in any version of MS
Office. As to Outlook included with MS Office, it depends on which
edition of MS Office but which you failed to mention. All editions of
MS Office 2003 included Outlook. Only some versions of MS Office 2007
include Outlook.

For which components are in each edition of MS Office 2007, see:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX101635841033.aspx

Seems pretty obvious which edition you bought but chose to neglect to
mention here since Outlook is missing from only one edition.

Err OE was NEVER part of Office - it came with Windows. If you have Vista,
OE has been replaced with Windows Mail.
There are several good free email clients you CAN download -
Mozilla Thunderbird.
Windows Live Mail
Eudora

Do a Google and try them out for yourself.

Outlook Express is not part of Office, its part of Win and IE
If you have a Vista PC, then Outlook Express has been replaced by Windows
Mail

Outlook, a completely different program is part of Office however its not
included in Office 2007 H&S version
