Double-click gets a 'search' window ... ??!!

Situation: in Windows explorer, and a folder is showing in the right
hand pane.

Double clicking on that folder just gets a search window. It is supposed
to open the folder, of course.

Also, when I right-click 'Search' is at the top of my 'Shortcut' Menu.
I want Open at the top.

Can you tell me how to reset 'open' to a higher priority??

OS Win Media Center (supposedly Win XP Pro with a program added, or so
I'm told)

Thanks!

Do you happen to have any mouse software installed like Logitech that
will allow you to re-map buttons?

If so, I'm wondering if perhaps this installed incorrectly. Maybe try
to re-install.

When did this start happeneing? Had you installed anything just prior
to this or done any registry tweaking/cleaning before doing this?

Let me know and I'll see what I can dig up. =)

Hi!

My problem was solved. Another suggested I do a regedit change.
I had indeed found a 'Print Directory' listing that I had forgotten I
did. I changed a default to 'none' and now all is normal.

If anyone needs details, I can direct them to the spot.

double-click gets 'search' window

Paul,

I have been having this bug me for months but it didn't seem to start until my Logitech MX Revolutioon had been installed for a while. Now it happens every couple of days. I simply reboot to clear it.

I would like to know what you found with Regedit to correct this.

Thanks,
