Dot Matrix and poor graphics

I have a Okidata Pacemark 3410. I am printing a report out of Visual FoxPro
6. The printer will print the report in graphics mode. This is correct and
the way I want it to print. If I print from my Windows XP machine using the
built in Okidata Pacemark 3410 driver, the graphics are missing pieces. The
report is basically all text but is using the Courier New font in different
sizes so the dot matrix printer prints in graphics mode. The graphics
(which is just text in Courier New) skips pieces of the letters. You can
still make out what the letter is but it looks pretty bad. If I print the
same report from a Windows 98 machine to the Packmark, the graphics are
perfectly readable.

Does anybody know what could be causing this? Thanks for the help.

Ok, I think I know what the problem is. The printer is set when it is
turned on to print at 12 CPI. The Windows XP driver is changing the printer
back to 10 CPI. Is there a way to keep the Windows XP driver from changing
the printer to 10 CPI or is there a way to send the code to the printer to
set it to 12 CPI?

James.
