dot leaders and indexing

I have an index with dot leaders. Its just a basic index and not tied to my
document. It has a list of documents for the left column and list of
sequential tab numbers in my document book for the right column. How do I
automatically number the right hand column with the tab numbers and still
keep the dot leaders?

What is an SEQ field and how do I do this?

Did you try typing SEQ into Word's Answer Wizard? The first hit you'll get
will be "Field codes: Seq (Sequence) field."
