How about using a startup folder shortcut to cmd.exe?
(Although it is NOT a DOS box, it is a DOS look-alike box.

Tried but it just appears for split second and disappears. I must have
missed something.

Hi John,

As someone said, you can put a shortcut in your Startup folder for
cmd.exe. To start Control Panel from a command prompt, type control and
press Enter.

You may have a rogue file called "cmd.bat" or "cmd.com" somewhere on your
machine. See if you can find it. In the meantime start your Command Prompt
(which you call "DOS" because it resembles this legacy operating system
introced some 30 years ago) with this command: c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe.
