dos applications problem

Dos applications used to run ok under administrator and user accounts. now
they only run under administrator account. Now when I run a dos program
under a user account, I get the error message
"C:\DOCUM~1\john\LOCALS~1\Temp. A temporary file needed for initialization
could not be created or could not be written to. Make sure that the
directory path exists, and disk space is available choose 'close' to
terminate the application". I know the directory "Temp" exists. Anyone knows
the problem?
thanks in advance.

you may want to play w/ modifying the user's temp variable to point to
%SystemRoot%\temp instead.
