Don't update date when printing, saving or closing

Kristopher

I am creating a document using word 2003. I have a date I have put in that I
want to update to the current date everytime the document is opened only.
However, I do not want the date to change when printing, saving or closing.
Is this possible? Please Help Me.

If you mean you don't want the date to change when you print, save etc on
another date from that on which the document was created then that is not
possible. The better way is to save the fixed elements of your document as a
template and before saving change the date field for createdate field -
ALT+F9 change {DATE \@ "d MMM yyyy"}or {TIME \@ "d MMM yyyy"} to {CREATEDATE
\@ "d MMM yyyy"} then F9 and ALT+F9. The switches \@ "d MMM yyyy" may be
different at your location.

Then create new documents from the template rather than modify the document.
