Don't know what to look for

My computer is left on 99% of the time. When I'm done I close of any program
that was open and shut off my monitor. When I come back, whether it's 20
minutes or six hours, I would turn on my monitor, move my mouse and my
desktop would become visible.
Lately, I turn on my monitor and move my mouse but nothing happens. It's
as if my computer is hibernating and won't wake up. (Hibernate is not checked
off)
I went to control panel / power options/power schemes and did the following:
Turn off monitor - Never, Turn of hard drive - Never, System standby -
Never.
Made no difference. Could not get on unles I rebooted. Tried a different
mouse but that didn't help.
Anyone suggest what I should be looking at. All windows updates are done.

Reinstall the existing or, better yet, update the video drivers.
