don't know how to use Outlook 2007 Calendar Printing Assistant

J

jreish

Hello, I am migrating my calendar to Outlook and have items too long to print
on the calendar fields. I have seen this has been asked before and the answer
is to install Outlook 2007 Calendar Printing Assistant. I did that, but when
I run Outlook again I don't see any new options or any applet that allows me
to change the print and font settings beyond what I could do before I
installed this.

How do I actually use Outlook 2007 Calendar Printing Assistant?

Running Office 2007 under Vista Home Basic.

Thanks very much!

The Calendar Printing Assistant is located in the absolute most logical and clearly thought out place in the entire Windows menu - Start->All Programs->Microsoft Office->MIcrosoft Office Tools...

<sarcasm> There, now don't you feel silly for having to ask why this option is not patently and clearly obvious in Outlook itself? </sarcasm>

Thank you Milly. I appreciate your help.

Honestly, I do not appreciate the sarcasm. What is obvious to you is not
obvious to me. The instructions on the download page for how to use this
program read simply:

Instructions for use:

After you install this download, use Outlook 2007 as you typically would.

So yes, based on this information I thought it would be an add-in in Outlook
itself, not a separate program. I can be snide myself when I think someone is
missing the obvious, I really don't think that is the case here. Perhaps
clearer instructions from Micrsoft's download page would have been helpful to
me.

I still cannot figure out how to use the Assistant to print my complete
calendar entries. I have entries longer than the space allotted and they are
truncated, I would like to adjust the area in which the entry appears so that
it "wraps" the text to an additional line to show the whole entry. I do not
see instructions for formatting the area of the text (I do see font
formatting). Can anyone help me with that please? And if the answer truly is
obvious, you have my permission to use sarcasm and call me a dunce. ;-)

Milly shoulda wrapped the entire comment in the sarcasm tag because most
people expect the CPA to be an outlook addin... anyway...

AFAIK you can't wrap the text anymore than it does on its own and you can't
do much with the font, again, other than what it allows you to do with font
formatting. It's better than the native outlook options, but that’s not
saying much for the native options. :)

http://www.slipstick.com/addins/calendar_print.asp lists other tools that
are available. the word templates work well but if you need to print often,
either blueprint or outlookprinter should meet you needs.

My sarcasm was meant as a criticism of MICROSOFT for a poorly thought out placement of something that can ONLY be used in Outlook so why does it appear where it is under Office Tools?

Sorry you have no sense of irony.

Thanks Diane, I appreciate your help. It appears my easiest option is to set
my font to about 4 pt and read it with a magnifying glass...

yes I can recognize irony when I see it.

Hi

I can't believe Microsoft - they never make things easy do they! I came
across this problem today when a staff member reported this problem.

A tip, it's sometimes easier to google things like this even for Microsoft
support issues. I have found this link. it is not fully tested by me yet,
but you could give it a go. (I tried the link mentioned earlier in this
thread but drew a blank)

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...DC-25A4-41BD-9C98-67C47C6CD8FF&displaylang=en

It is the Calendar Printing Assistant for Outlook 2007

Best of of luck
