Domain Upgrade to Windows 2003 from W2K

I am looking to upgrade my 2 domain controllers from W2K to Windows 2003 and
would like to know how easy it is to do this in a live environment. I don't
really want to have to introduce a 3rd domain controller to facilitate the
upgrade. Is there any way I can do this without causing too much disruption
and having to buy new hardware.

Thanks,

I did this very thing last month. I did all the pre upgrade things like the
forrestprep and domain prep and then did an OS upgrade on both servers (one
at a time, of course). I did one, and then moved all the FSMO roles to the
new 2003 box and did the other one a week later. No problems. I still have
some member servers (including my Exchange 2003 server) running Server 2000.
It was a lot easier than going from NT4 to 2000. It was very smooth.
