Domain deleted

T

Tony

I am working on a computer in which the domain has been
physically deleted by the user. The computer accesses the
internet ok but now will not connect to the network
domain. How do I reconnect? The usual process no longer
works. It comes up with a domain error or problem. It
does not recognize any domains. I would prefer not to
reinstall the OS or programs at this time.

Thank you.

Can you ping the domain controller by name? What error messages are you
getting? Have you tried deleting the computer account from the domain and
then trying to reconnect it?

Probably best not to grant users local admin rights - this happens all too
frequently.

can you ping dns server? if yes, can you join the domain. if not, clean the
dns records from dns and try it again.
