I have a Win 2003 server that crashed with no hope of
revival. It was one of my domain controllers. How do I
safely remove it's domain controller status from Active
directory??????

Did the domain controller hold any of the FSMO roles? (PDC, RID, Schema,
Domain Naming, Infrastructure) If so - you will want to Seize them to a new
box, since a transfer will not be possible.
