Domain and Workstation option grayed out

Hi,

I'm running Windows 2000 server and logged in as Administrator to the
local machine. If I go to the network id properties, the option to
join the pc to a domain is grayed out. It's currently set to
Workstation but even if I wanted to change the name, I can't because
that is grayed out as well.

Has anyone come across this before? I'd appreciate any input.

So under member of, you see the button selected next to workgroup and the
workgroup name is "workstation". This is what you see right.

I assume you have tried to select the button next to domain? Does it
select, and whiten the domain field for you?

You could just use the netdom join command line to join the box to the
domain.
