Go to:
Slide Show>>>Narration
Set your quality and check your microphone
You also have the option to link rather than embed your narration
Click OK and your set
When you stop, you'll have an option to save timings as well

You also can record a sound/narration by accessing:
Insert>>>Movies and Sounds>>>Record
There are 2 options depending on how you want to do it.
Remember, you'll need a fair microphone and if you want to do any editing,
you'll need to have a program like Audacity (free) found at:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
