Doesn't find spyware

I

Ira

For quite a while I have observed that the MS Anti-spyware is seriously
lacking in its' ability to find spyware. If I run MS, it find nothing but if
I run Ad-Aware it finds spyware. The same is true running SpyBot. I am
hoping the MS will catch up with the other search and destroy software. If
this doesn't happen soon MS will be far behind other systems and will
establish a reputation for suspicion of not being able to do the job. Would
you trust a system that doesn't close all the or even most of the doors?

If you are finding things in Adaware and Spybot but not
MSAS, 9 times out of 10, you are finding cookies, not
spyware.

Internet Explorer: Open "Internet Options..." from
the "Tools" menu. Choose the "Privacy" tab, and raise the
Settings to at least Medium; or use the "Advanced..."
button to enabled "Override automatic cookie handling" and
set "Third-party Cookies" to "Block".

Firefox: Open "Options" from the "Tools" menu. Click
the "Privacy" icon, and open the "Cookies" category.
Under "Allow sites to set cookies", just set the "for the
originating web site only" option.

Mozilla/Netscape: Open "Preferences..." from the "Edit"
menu. Open the category "Privacy & Security" and click on
its first entry "Cookies". In the group "Cookie Acceptance
Policy", select "Allow cookies for the originating web
site only".

Opera: Open "Preferences" from the "Tools" menu. Click
on "Privacy" in the list on the left, then open the pull-
down list about "Third party cookies" on the right and set
it to "Refuse all cookies".

Everything that you mentioned has been done and even if they are cookies
that doesn't mean that they don't contain tracking spyware and need to be
removed.

I use No Adware V.30 and MS Anti-Spyware Beta 1 and have found MS spyware
finds more spyware, adware than No Adware. I have used SpyBot and a couple
of other spyware installs , none work as well as MS

I've been having some severe SpyWare issues today, and
what I found in my frustrations with MS AS Beta is that I
did not have the option to run a full system scan for my
scans. By default, it only runs an "intelligent Quick
scan". Well, it wasn't very intelligent. BUt the full
scan (which takes longer) found much more.
Silly me for not noticing this option, maybe you didn't
notice it either? hope this helps

The beta builds of Microsoft Antispyware distributed thus far do not scan
for cookies, nor do they selectively remove them. This functionality is
still under consideration, and may appear in a later beta version.

Details, please? What, in addition to cookies, which Microsoftt Antispyware
does not scan for, is found?

I don't keep a record of what other anti spyware programs find and I no
