Type "powerpnt" [without qoutes] in Start > Run.
If it is installed correctly, it will run. And search for the name
powerpnt.exe
If the search cannot find it , that means you d'not have powerpoint. You
got'a install it.

Powerpoint is not built-in windows. You have to install it if you want it.

Please use normal formatting. Capital letters makes the reading difficult.

PowerPoint can be purchased as part of the MS Office suite or
standalone. Neither Office nor PowerPoint is part of the XP operating
system.

Ouch! Please don't yell at us. We can hear you if you type normally, in
mixed case.

PowerPoint is a commercial (for sale) application program. It runs under
Windows XP, but it is not part of
and has nothing to do with Windows XP.

Just as with any other commercial application program, you can buy a copy of
it at many local stores or online at many web sites. You can buy PowerPoint
either alone, or as part of Microsoft Office.

Alternatively, if you just want to view existing PowerPoint presentations,
but not create or modify them yourself, you can download and install the
free Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer at

Please note that if you are intending on using Office for distribution to
clients/recipients that use Office (and PowerPoint), Open Office may not be
your best bet.
Open Office is good as a stand alone application, but using it to make
presentations to play using PowerPoint, there are usually incompatibility
with things like fonts, object locations, and animations when playing back
using PowerPoint.

I am not knocking OO, just pointing out that it is not completely
compatible.

Pease unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all caps, as you have
done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is considered very rude
by a large number of people. More importantly, posting in all caps
makes the post harder to read, further reducing your chances of getting
help; a great many people won't even try to read such a message.

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.

1) Go to store/shop that sells computer software.

2) Purchase the PowerPoint, or the Microsoft Office productivity suite.

3) Return home.

4) Insert installation CD in PC's CD drive and follow the on-screen
prompts and instructions to install application and desired additional
features.

For the budget-minded (who also don't need all of PowerPoint's
specific features), there's the free, open source OpenOffice:

http://www.openoffice.org/

If all you need is to view PowerPoint-produced files, there's a
free viewer available:
