Does SP2 change any device drivers?

Ken F.

I want to know if SP2 changes or updates any device
drivers. I am particularly concerned about the driver for
Yamaha sound system (Yamaha Legacy and Native DS1
drivers). I have tried to use the latest driver for this
device from Windows Update and it cause my system to
hang. I had to do a Windows XP file repair to get my
system to work properly.

Thanks in advance.

If you have something working that took you time and trouble, then avoid
SP2.

Nonsense, the above list is obscure and small. Most folks find that
SP2 works great.

Unfortunately the people who have no problems with installing and running
SP2 whatsoever are the ones we never hear from.........

"The Prophecy" ,

Greetings,

I downloaded SP2 when it became available from the IT Professional site and
installed it on my home LAN with 3 computers. Everything is working very
well. I have not had any problems.

Another point of view...we don't hear much from those who crashed their PC
by installing SP2 because they lost contact with the outside world, their
cries
and screams are not heard...
