XP Pro on a new Dell.
I created a user account for 5x people. They were all 'computer
administrator' accounts.
Then I changed my mind and decided to only have one account that everyone
would use.
I deleted all but one of the 'computer administrator' accounts and renamed
it.
In Control Panel>User Accounts - I now have 2 entries - one for the
abovementioned 'computer administrator' account and one for the Guest
Account which is switched off.
In My Computer>LocalDisk(C
>Documents and Setttings> there are folders for
each of the 5 previously deleted Users.
And there is an 'All Users' folder, and an 'Administrator' folder.
And there is another folder for 'Veronica.Computer_1' - This is partially
named after one of the original 'computer administrator' accounts, and
partially after the name I gave the machine in the original setup wizard.
There is no listing under Documents & Settings for the newly re-named
'computer administrator' account.
I right-clicked each of the original deleted accounts and deleted them from
the Documents & Settings folder. However, I cannot delete the
'Veronica.Computer_1' account. I get an error message that it's a Windows
system folder and can't be deleted.
If I go to Control Panel>Computer Management> Local Users and Groups>
Users - I have 6 listings - 2 support (Dell & MS), Help Assistant,
Administrator, Guest and Veronica (* The Name is Veronica but the Full Name
is the name I gave the newly renamed 'computer administrator' account
mentioned above).It seems this Veronica could be renamed or deleted with a
right click menu. But that wouldn't change the troublesome entry in
Documents & Settings ? *&%^$#
Can anyone help me straighten out this mess - Hopefully there is a
relatively simple solution. I'm getting my knickers in a knot?
