Hi.
I have a few users who have more than one documents and settings directory
for their username. For example one them has a "c:\documents and
settings\vneil" directory and also a "c:\documents and
settings\vneil.MILLIB" directory where MILLIB is the name of our network
server. When she logs in some of her programs save application data to the
first directory and some of them save application data to the second
directory. How can I safely combine the two and make sure that the
application data is saved to one directory only.

Thanks.

XP differentiates a user based on their logon process. If vneil logs on to the local PC she will get a different profile than when she logs on to
the server.

This profile is where all her settings and files are kept. The profile is based on who and how the person logs on. If she logs onto the server
it will be a different profile than if she logs on locally to her PC.

The only way to stop the two different profiles is to disable her local PC account so that she can only log on to the server MILLIB. Or vice
versa, disable her MILLIB server account and force her to only log onto her local PC account.

If the files you are concerned about are the "My Documents" you can right click on the My Documents folder and specify a common
location on the hard drive for both profiles, the local one and the server one. That way it would not matter if she is logged on to the server or
locally, the My Document files would go to the same place.

The thing is she only logs on to our server and while she is logged in some
of her settings are going to the one directory (ie Eudora) and some are
going to the other (ie Internet Explorer).
