Documents and Settings duplication

I am using XP Pro on my desktop computer. While investigating what was
using up so much of my hard drive I found that in the Documents and Settings
folder, I have two sub folders, Administrator and Bruce, that seem to have
identical contents. Is this the way Windows has been configured or is it an
error on my part? Can the contents be removed without negative
repercussions? Thanks for your help.

Windows XP is a multi-user computer. If you were showing all hidden and
system files - you would see a lot more. ;-)

It's normal. Those are profile directories. They contain the individual
profiles for each user on your system. Yes - you have a "administrator"
user and you have a "Bruse" folder. Compare sizes of - for example - the
"ntuser.dat" file (if you are showing hidden/system and file extensions.)
They will likely be different. I would also bet in the "Documents" folders
of each (My Documents folders actually) - there are (or can be) differences.
