Document Based upon an Existing Template

I have used the *Add* method of the Documents Collection in order to create
a new document based upon a particular template *Documents.Add(“Templateâ€)*.
Indeed a new document is created and according to the *properties*; it is
based upon the designated template.

However, when I switch over to the VBE to look at the coding, it seems that
none of the macros and/or procedures from the original template have
transferred to the new document.

Somewhere along the line I got the impression that the macros, autotext and
toolboxes, etc. from a template were transferred to any document based upon
it.

Is there perhaps a different procedure that I should be following in order
for the new document to have access to macros and/or procedure from the
original template or could I possibly be expecting something that is not
realistic?

Thanks in advance for any light shed upon this situation.

A document has *access* to the macros in the attached template, that is
correct, but the macros are not copied into the document. Similarly, the
document has access to AutoText entries in the template. Only contents, page
layout settings, and styles will actually be transferred to the template
upon creation (this never happens with AutoText, though, since these can
only be stored in templates). See
